CANBERRA`S LEADING FINE ART GALLERY established 1974. The place to view the best of new art from every state.

Solo exhibitions each month plus a large stockroom containing the work of significant Australian artists.

Solander is in its 35th year and as such is the longest established fine arts gallery in the National Capital.

The gallery has played a pivotal role in introducing important Australian painters and sculptors to the national capital.

A new exhibition of NUDE STUDIES by William Boissevain - from Friday 15 August to 21 September. The exhibition is a collection of beautiful studies celebrating the female form and is the artist’s first solo show in Canberra.

William Boissevain, born in New York in 1927, came to Australia in 1949. He studied in London and Paris and his early years of travelling with his diplomat father informed his figurative work. Between 1964 and 2005 he taught and held 28 solo exhibitions in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.

Boissevain’s work is held in the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Tasmanian Museum and Gallery, the Western Australian Institute of Advanced Technology (now Curtin University of Technology) and WA and Murdoch University collections.
